We provide information, tools and objective advice so that you can compare and contrast individual municipal bond strategies and determine the best fit for each of your clients. Our services include easy-to-understand portfolio analytics and customized client presentations.
Strategic Partners was founded in 2000 by Thomas Ambrosio and Harris May as an independent, fee-based, municipal bond money manager. We are headquartered in Rye Brook, New York.
For more than 14 years, we have established relationships with, and managed money for, some of the largest financial planning firms in the country. Our commitment to client service and goals-based portfolio management is the hallmark of our success.
Harris May's responsibilities include managing the day-to-day operations of the firm, spearheading the investment committee, creating new products and exploring new avenues of distribution.
Prior to starting Strategic Partners, Harris was a senior institutional bond salesman in the fixed income department at Morgan Stanley. He represented Morgan Stanley's sales, trading and underwriting efforts to major insurance companies, bank trust departments and mutual funds throughout the country.
Harris received his BS in finance from New York University, College of Business and Public Administration and attended the New York University's Stern's Graduate School of Business.
Christina Viapiano's responsibilities include managing our relationships with the various investment platforms and financial planning firms that we do business with.
Christina oversees the performance measurements of our investment strategies. She also works with Harris May in increasing the firm's channels of distribution. Christina joined Strategic Partners in 2005 and became an equity owner in the firm in 2012.
Christina received a B.S. in Economics from Fordham University and is currently pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
John Gangi's responsibilities include trading and managing our limited term, intermediate and long term strategies. John also heads our Unified Managed Account program and serves as a member of our Investment Management Committee. John has been with the firm for 14 years and became an equity owner in 2012.
John was formerly a Vice President of Chapdelaine & Company where he managed the short-term bond trading desk.
Mr. Gangi graduated from the State University of New York, College at Oswego.
David was formerly a portfolio manager for General Reinsurance Corporation where he was responsible for analyzing and investing in municipal bonds for the company's various strategies. David has been with SPIA for over 10 years and is an equity owner.
Prior to working at General Reinsurance David was in the municipal bond department at Bear Stearns and at Dean Witter. He received his BA degree from Syracuse University and his MBA from Columbia University.
David May is responsible for managing the firm's 5-year and 10-year laddered tax- exempt municipal bond strategies. David is also involved in the day-to-day trading for our limited term, intermediate and long term actively managed tax- exempt strategies.
David is a graduate of Champlain College in Burlington, VT. Prior to joining Strategic Partners in 2010, David worked at UBS.
